WHAT'S THE STORY? FILM CHALLENGE 

Have you always wanted to make a film but were never really sure where to start?

 

Learn how to creatively re-use archival footage and creative writing and editing skills with this year's online Film Challenge in association with Northern Ireland Screen and PRONI.

 

You will make a 3-minute film to premiere at Rathmullan Film Festival 2024 and take part in a series of online workshops with Póca Productions. There will be a cash prize for the best film.

 

The online workshop dates are:

  • Saturday, 20th January - 11am-3pm

  • Monday, 22nd January - 7-8:30pm

  • Wednesday, 24th January - 7-8:30pm

  • Saturday, 27th January - 11am-3pm

We will also be offering scheduled one-to-one 1hr sessions from 29th January - 2nd February.

Monday 5th Feb: Submission Deadline

The Launch Event is taking place in person in Rathmullan at the Film Festival on Saturday 17th February.

 

Northwest Film Challenge is a great way for you to get into filmmaking, improve your filmmaking skills and get involved with the festival in a unique and creative way.

This challenge is open to anyone over 18 and you must be based in counties Donegal and Derry and available to attend all (or most) sessions.
